Job Description

PRN/As Needed employees work as needed between 0-19.99 hours per week on no set schedule and do not qualify for benefits.

The Information Desk Customer Service Assistant greets and assists Carle patients, visitors and customers by transporting them from the entrances of Carle to their destinations via wheelchair. Gives directions and answers questions about the Carle complex and community. Develops and maintains great public relations skills.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two (2) years experience working with the public.

Essential Functions:

Assists wheelchair patients when appropriate
Calms upset patients expressing understanding and empathy
Completes incident reports on injuries and helps care for injured
Greets and welcomes patients, visitors and staff
Provides telephone assistance to upset/confused patients
Refers patients to appropriate physician, appointments, or department; gives directions and information as needed
Remains knowledgeable of new physicians and specialty areas
Retrieve wheelchairs from all areas
Responds to department transport requests
Transports patients to and from appointments when needed
